2025 edition: the Safari loop.

Our Safari MotoXpedition in October 2025 set the tone for everything we want these rides to be. Big days on the bike, constantly changing terrain, wildlife in all directions, and a group that quickly turned into a proper team. From dusty off-road tracks to quiet tarmac, from campfires to cold beers, this was Kenya experienced the right way. On two wheels, at ground level, and far from the tourist trail.

Day 1/2: Arrival and warm up in Kitengela

Riders arrived over the weekend and settled into camp. Sunday was all about getting comfortable on the Kibo 250s with a familiarisation ride inside the conservancy. Sand, rocks, black cotton soil and our first wildlife sightings including giraffe, zebra and gazelle.
The afternoon shifted gears with a local celebration, great food, drinks and a group that bonded very quickly. As night fell, hyenas could be heard nearby while stories started flowing around the fire.

Day 3. Kitengela to Amboseli

Our first proper riding day and a big one. Long hours in the saddle, mostly off-road, with heat, dust, and plenty of technical sections. This was where riders met fesh fesh for the first time. Challenging, tiring, and hugely rewarding.
The day ended riding straight towards Mount Kilimanjaro as the sun went down. A race against daylight and an unforgettable arrival into camp.

Day 4. Amboseli and Maasai land

We woke up to a crystal clear Kilimanjaro, snow visible on the summit and giraffes moving through the landscape. Guided by local Maasai, we rode through their conservancy and along the edges of Amboseli National Park. Wildlife everywhere and terrain that kept changing by the kilometre.
The day ended at a lodge near Kajiado with cold beers, a small pool and very happy riders.

Day 5. Kajiado to Naivasha via the Rift Valley

A day of contrast. Open plains, red soil tracks, then a dramatic drop down into the Great Rift Valley. This vast geological feature cuts through Kenya and creates some of the most impressive scenery in the country.
Quiet tarmac, sweeping views and barely any traffic eventually led us to Naivasha.

Day 6. Naivasha and Hell’s Gate

A more relaxed day to reset. A boat safari on Lake Naivasha brought us close to hippos and dense birdlife along the shoreline. Later, we rode through Hell’s Gate National Park by motorbike, passing buffalo, giraffe and zebra in a dramatic volcanic landscape.
The afternoon was for swimming, resting and enjoying camp life by the lake.

Day 7. Naivasha to Kitengela

The final ride took us back towards Nairobi via private conservancy land used during the World Rally Championship. We rode past the famous Embili Mbiti tree, known for hosting the biggest jump in the entire WRC calendar.
From there, it was back up the escarpment and into camp for a final night together, good food, a few drinks and a group we could not have asked more from.
